Dustin Jones

Managing Director, Brand Accelerator Fung Retailing Group

Dustin Jones is a Managing Director with the Fung Retailing Group. He leads the Company’s new Brand Accelerator platform which focuses on Smart Retail and O2O services for international brands entering China through all consumer channels. He joined the Group in November 2018. 

Prior to Fung Retailing, Dustin worked at Macy’s Inc. for over 14 years and gained meaningful experience across most of Macy’s major business functions including Sourcing and Product Development, Stores, Merchandising and Buying, e-Commerce and Operations. During his tenure at Macy’s the company’s market share grew from US$9B and 150 stores to US$28B and 880 stores and had #1 online market share in fashion. 

Throughout his time at Macy’s, Dustin developed a strong reputation for understanding consumer trends, building, growing, and profitably leading great brands, and finding sustainable partnerships and business models to drive success.

At Macy’s, Dustin was widely known as an early adopter of digital and omnichannel retail and was an instrumental leader in growing Macys.com to its current size of US$7B+ becoming the fourth largest retail website in the US.

In 2016, Dustin became the Managing Director of Macy’s China. He led his team to successfully launch Macy’s in China and grew its brand awareness from 12% to 36% through building a strong partnership with Alibaba Group and highly innovative supply chain and technology solutions that enabled the Company to sell over 50,000 product types from 400 brands in the market.

Dustin has held several senior positions at Macy’s including the General Merchandise Manager of Ready to Wear, Senior Vice President of Licensed Business, New Business Development, Global Forecasting, and Vendor Collaboration. He also oversaw the development of the activewear and wellness market across Macy’s Inc. Throughout his tenure as a senior leader, Macy’s market share in these categories grew by over US$700 million. 

Dustin’s career in the fashion industry started at age 17 after receiving a business fashion scholarship from major US apparel manufacturer, Tropical Sportswear International (now known as Perry Ellis International). Then, after a few years in Europe, Dustin returned to the US to start his first business focusing on the new era of e-Commerce. Besides running his own men’s retail store, Dustin opened two online businesses in 2003. In 2005, he sold his companies and joined Macy’s, Inc.
