Equarius Hotel, Sentosa, Singapore
Main Conference Day 1, Wednesday, 15th May
At a time when consumers are demanding greater flexibility, customization, and responsiveness, many retailers lack the tech foundation to
meet these expectations. The answer is a comprehensive overhaul of the tech architecture and operating model.
A robust tech foundation can give retailers the capabilities to boost performance across the board, but to date, most organizations haven’t
made sufficient progress and are missing opportunities as a result. Only a few retailers have built true omnichannel offerings, harnessed data
at scale and implemented agile ways of working throughout their organizations. To reverse the negative trajectory of recent years, bold
action is needed: retailers must undertake a radical transformation of their tech function—both its architecture and its operating model.
· Are rooted first in consumer insights and behaviours vs. technology capability – what exactly are you trying to do?
· Build the right task force team – business as lead, engineers as enablers, stakeholders involved – who do you need to solve this problem
· Start with a clear brief and the correct KPI metrics, so we are designing products that solve clear problems and have clear parameters
· Fail forward vs. broad based testing – if you’ve picked the right problem and right tracking measures, you keep working the experience until it delivers, vs. move on to the newest piece of technology or idea
· Fail small and scale up, looking at the problem itself and the results you measure vs. the technology used
Scalability and Real-time Adaptation: Personalization systems need to handle large volumes of data and deliver personalized experiences in real-time. Scaling personalization algorithms, infrastructure, and data processing pipelines can be complex. Additionally, adapting to dynamic user preferences and environmental changes in real-time presents challenges in system responsiveness and resource optimization.
From demystifying the technology to exploring practical applications, the speakers in this session will navigates through the landscape of Generative AI, separating the hype from the tangible advancements.
